E-bike Tour “The Seven Wonders of the Coast: From Albandeira to Algar Seco”

Get ready for an epic two-wheeled adventure! This exclusive Xplorebenagil route takes you along the Algarve’s most breathtaking cliffs. Starting from our meeting point, we’ve designed a journey that blends the adrenaline of cycling with the serene beauty of the ocean.

From the natural rock arch at Albandeira Beach to the famous rocky “windows” of Algar Seco, you’ll pass through jaw-dropping viewpoints, including the iconic aerial view of Benagil Cave and the crystal-clear waters of Marinha Beach. It’s the perfect mix of sport, nature, and the best “postcard-perfect” photos you’ll take home from this trip.

Our Itinerary:

Meeting Point (Departure): We begin our adventure at the Xplorebenagil base. After a brief safety briefing and bike fitting, we start pedaling toward the coastline.

Albandeira Beach: Our first major stop is one of the region’s most peaceful gems. Famous for its impressive natural rock arch that plunges into the sea, it’s the perfect setting for the first photos.

Marinha Beach Viewpoint: We ride to one of Portugal’s icons. Considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe, we stop at the top of the cliff to admire its unique rock formations (like the famous “M Rock,” or “Cathedral”) and its turquoise-blue waters.

Benagil Cave (Top View): A truly exclusive perspective. Instead of going into the water, we head to the top of the cliff to look down through the famous “eye” (the sinkhole/opening) of the cave, taking in the grandeur of this natural cathedral from above.

Carvalho Beach: We continue on to the mysterious “Smugglers’ Beach.” Known for access via a hand-carved tunnel through the rock, it’s a stunning, sheltered bay.

Alfanzina Lighthouse: A historic landmark in the landscape. Built on a rocky promontory, this lighthouse has guided sailors since 1920 and offers an unobstructed panoramic view over the Atlantic horizon.

Vale Centeanes Beach: We make a short stop to take in this beach nestled between high cliffs, enjoying the valley view before continuing to the final point along the coast.

Algar Seco (Carvoeiro): The geological highlight of our tour. Explore this maze of rock formations carved by wind and sea, peek through natural “windows,” and discover the famous “Boneca” formation.

Return to the Meeting Point: After enjoying Algar Seco’s views, we begin the ride back to our base, bringing the tour to a close.
